Brian Jordan, a plant biologist at Lincoln University, has been appointed acting head of science at the New Zealand Winegrowers Research Centre.

Jordan will retain his role as professor of plant biotechnology at Lincoln while working part-time with the centre to develop its research programme.

The centre, based in Marlborough, received a $12.5-million grant from the previous National government in 2016. It was the first regional research institute to be funded in a national programme to improve cooperation between industry and academic research.
