Anger as Auckland vice-chancellor says white supremacist propaganda will not be removed from campus

Around 450 staff at the University of Auckland, including New Zealand’s former chief scientist Peter Gluckman, have signed an open letter criticising a decision by vice-chancellor Stuart McCutcheon not to remove racist material posted on campus noticeboards.

McCutcheon told the university’s student newspaper Craccum that the stickers and posters, which are linked to a white supremacist website, were “unfortunate” but were not illegal or inciting violence.
