Researcher calls for medical schools to make nutrition education compulsory

Nutrition should be a compulsory subject for all medical courses in New Zealand so that doctors are able to give relevant advice on dietary changes for patients, a University of Auckland academic has said.

Jennifer Crowley, a research fellow with the faculty of medical and health sciences, says the global medical journal The Lancet recently reviewed medical education in countries around the world.
