Collaborative project ‘could be a game-changer for farmers around the world’

A research project that could reduce methane emissions from New Zealand’s cattle by up to 80 per cent has received a $100,000 government grant for sustainable agriculture.

The Cawthron Institute will develop and test a commercial system to produce stockfeed from a red seaweed species, Asparagopsis armata, that grows in NZ coastal waters.
