Government to set up rural health training network

New Zealand’s health minister David Clark has told a national conference that his department is making training for rural doctors and nurses “one of its top three immediate priorities”.

Policy work in this area is “proceeding with a sense of urgency”, he told the annual NZ rural health conference in Marlborough.

“I understand a steering group and a joint summit are already under development,” Clark said.
