New Zealand’s Centres of Research Excellence get NZ$350 million over seven years
Earthquake research, pest eradication, nanotechnology and advanced photonic and quantum technology have all been confirmed as research priorities for New Zealand with the announcement of the latest round of Centres of Research Excellence funding, totalling around NZ$350 million over seven years.
On 9 October, the Tertiary Education Commission announced that 10 collaborative centres would share almost NZ$50m a year from July 2021 until 2028.
