Research reveals complex public attitudes to NZ pest species

University researchers and Department of Conservation are requesting opinions on pest eradication programmes

An online survey to test public attitudes to pest management programmes in New Zealand has been developed by researchers at the University of Auckland and Victoria University of Wellington.

Introduced species are a major threat to NZ wildlife, with bird species such as the NZ bellbird (pictured) in decline due to predators eating eggs, chicks and adult birds.
