Massey to lead $30m study on dairy herd disease eradication

Researchers aim to improve understanding of how Mycoplasma bovis affects whole herds of cattle

A national $30 million research programme to accelerate eradication of Mycoplasma bovis from New Zealand’s dairy herds is to be led by Massey University veterinary scientists.

Chris Compton, a veterinary epidemiologist with the university’s EpiCentre for animal health research, will be the programme’s chief investigator.
