Men on campus must call out bad behaviour, says Canterbury study

  

Researchers outline steps that men can take to create an inclusive and supportive academic environment

Universities cannot take a “tick-box” approach to dealing with sexual harassment and must stop tolerating bad behaviour by male academics, according to a study by the University of Canterbury.

The study also looks at how men can support gender inclusivity without being accused of ‘mansplaining’ or ‘white knighting’—terms used by women to indicate condescension and paternalism.
