Government issues discussion paper on the future of the nation’s research system

The New Zealand government has promised to “modernise” the nation’s science research system, with sweeping changes to funding, policy development and priorities.

The much-anticipated Te Ara Paerangi, or Future Pathways, ‘green paper’ was released for public consultation on 28 October, with a cabinet decision on it expected in 2022 after consultation closes on 2 March.
