Institutions asked to sign up to “openness agreement” on use of research animals
Researchers and institutions using animals in New Zealand have been asked to sign up to an “openness agreement”.
Five research organisations have already signed up to the agreement, which was drafted by the Australian and New Zealand Council for the Care of Animals in Research and Teaching and sent to all its members. The agreement will be formally launched at the council’s annual conference in Queenstown from 25 to 27 July. The New Zealand part of the council is a standing committee of the Royal Society.
