Two-year review leads to increased weighting for Māori work in New Zealand’s Performance-Based Research Fund

The official priorities of New Zealand’s Performance-Based Research Fund will be adjusted to boost inclusiveness and Māori research, the government has announced.

The fund distributes NZ$315 million in research funding each year to universities and other higher education institutions, including for research degrees. It assesses research against a set of priorities in a regular review process.
