Research should be a defence against charges of promoting untested therapies, committee says

MPs have called for New Zealand’s researchers to be exempted from new rules on the “promotion” of medicines.

The country’s Therapeutic Products Bill, which is intended to replace the existing Medicines Act, will regulate the use and promotion of medicines and medical products, including in some cases in trials.
