Education minister Jan Tinetti announces extra NZ$128 million and promises thorough funding review

New Zealand’s government has announced an extra NZ$128 million in funding for universities and indicated that the higher education funding system may be overhauled.

The government announced the extra funding on 27 June, after weeks of industrial unrest and rising concern about funding levels and cutbacks at New Zealand’s universities.
