Funding is failing to keep up with inflation, submission to sector review says

New Zealand’s universities have said that income is the “only major problem” facing the sector, with government funding failing to keep up with inflation.

Universities New Zealand, which comprises vice-chancellors from the nation’s eight universities, outlined the challenge in a submission to phase 2 of the government’s University Advisory Group Consultation on 30 August.
