DFID: research and consultancy services on low birth weight in South Asia – a study into cost-effective interventions

The Department for International Development invites applications to tender for research and consultancy services on low birth weight in South Asia: a study into cost-effective interventions.

The aim of this tender is to commission a population-based randomised trial into interventions in improving birth weight and key maternal and neonatal health outcomes in the Terai region of Nepal. The study will test three interventions against current practice to identify their efficacy under experimental conditions and undertake detailed cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis of each intervention to determine economic viability.
