Don’t ask universities to spot terrorists, says UCL president

Malcolm Grant, president and provost of the University College London, has criticised the government’s plan to ask universities to identify signs of extremism.

In an interview with the Evening Standard on 11 October, he said it was “stupid” to conclude that there was a link between universities and terrorism just because about a third of terror convicts had studied for a degree.
