EU bank steps in to fill capital vacuum

The European Investment Bank is in discussions with the UK Science Park Association about funding small and medium-sized businesses within UK science parks.

Paul Wright, chief executive of the UK Science Parks Association, told Research Fortnight that representatives of the bank travelled to the UK earlier this month to discuss the idea. “They’re really interested in particular in ring-fencing an innovation fund for the development of SMEs within science parks,” he says.
