Prospect urges forensic lab closure review

Prospect Union has said it backs Andrew Miller, chairman of the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee, in urging Prime Minister David Cameron to re-think the decision to close the Forensic Science Service.

Miller made his point in a question to the Prime Minister on 12 October. It followed a report by the S&T committee, published on 1 July, arguing that the government’s decision to close the lab was too hasty and sidelined the Home Office’s chief scientific adviser.
