The University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, has announced it will change its name to distance itself from the University of Wales following controversy over the UoW’s external validation arrangements, reported Wales Online on 11 October.
The institution will be called Cardiff Metropolitan University and is to award its own degrees instead of those issued by the UoW.
