Engineers attack Scottish renewables policy

Scotland’s government has no “practical strategies” to achieve its target of generating all Scotland’s electricity from renewables by 2020, a report by the UK’s Institution of Mechanical Engineers has said.

The report, Scottish Energy 2020?, published on 4 November, warns that there is no engineering analysis behind the policy and that it may result in increased fuel poverty and dependence on energy imports.
