English Heritage: historic seascape characterisation of England’s South West peninsula

English Heritage invites applications to tender for research and development services on the historic seascape characterisation of England’s South West peninsula.

This project should contribute to the completion of England’s national historic seascape characterisation coverage by using the national HSC method to undertake a GIS based characterisation of England’s South West peninsula. The project will fill current gaps in that coverage: between the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset and the English sector of the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary. The project will follow the latest update of the HSC method statement, with practical guidance from recently completed national HSC projects, working in close consultation with English Heritage for further advice and guidance. Funding is worth up to £175,000 over 18 months.
