UK lab to lead international climate data team

The UK’s National Physical Laboratory is to lead a three-year European research project on improving the accuracy of earth-measurement data to allow more reliable predictions about the effects of climate change.

The project is an international consortium of European national measurement institutes. It aims to increase the accuracy of climate-related measurements of the planet from space. Currently, says the NPL, uncertainty is often a factor of 10 larger than required by climate scientists.
