Glastology

Like any great music festival, this year’s Glastonbury featured some unexpected mash-ups. Aside from the usual homeopathy clinics, psychics and outraged anti-vivisectionists (one flyer even claiming some scientists “punch puppies in the face” in the name of research) were some surprising additions. As an antidote to all the herbal healing, revellers could drop in on Radio 4’s Infinite Monkey Cage, Bad Science’s Ben Goldacre or even some Wellcome Trust theatre. Judging by the crowds, there was no doubt which side of the debate was the hipper—young Glastophiles definitely now love a dollop of reason with their mud pie.
