Tuition fees take up 17% of student budget

Tuition fees account for just 17 per cent of monthly student expenditure in England and Wales, a European survey has revealed.

The Eurostudent Survey, published on 15 June, placed England and Wales at fifth place out of 25 countries in terms of the proportion of undergraduates’ monthly budgets that goes towards fees, compared with other necessities such as food, books and accommodation.
