UK researchers win women-in-science fellowships

Geo-microbiologist Victoria Coker from the University of Manchester and three other UK researchers were awarded the 2011 L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science National Fellowships at The Royal Society on 28 June.

The other researchers, all receiving £15,000 fellowships, were Emily Flashman, a chemist from the University of Oxford; Monika Gullerova, a molecular biologist from the University of Oxford, and Heather Whitney, a plant scientist from the University of Bristol.
