Cancer research spending doubles in a decade

Research spending by the National Cancer Research Institute and its partners doubled between 2002 and 2010, the organisation has said.

Figures released by the NCRI on 29 June to celebrate its 10th birthday show that some £504 million was spent by the institute and its partners last year, compared with £257m in 2002.
