Liftoff for helicopter research

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is to invest £32 million in helicopter R&D, the government has announced. Most of the funding will be delivered in the form of a £22m loan to helicopter company AgustaWestland. This will help with the production of the AW169 craft at its facility in Yeovil, Somerset. The business secretary, Vince Cable, made the annoucement during a visit to AgustaWestland’s facility on 21 July.
