Chemists and physicists unite in opposition to EPSRC

But research council defends decision to cut synthetic organic chemistry

David Phillips, president of the Royal Society of Chemistry, has said the society was not consulted on the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council’s research portfolio, published on 20 July.

In an interview with Research Fortnight Today, Phillips says the RSC has corrected an EPSRC statement that the organisation had been consulted.
