Discrimination threat against Scottish tuition fees

Phil Shiner, a human rights lawyer, has said he plans to mount a legal challenge on grounds of discrimination against the Scottish government for levying tuition fees on students from the rest of the UK, The Guardian reported on 21 August.

Shiner argues that plans to charge students from the rest of the UK—while Scottish and EU students go free—breaches the European Convention on Human Rights.
