IFS urges UK to follow China’s lead

The UK must match China’s “unprecedented” investment in science and training if it is to remain a major economic force, according to a report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies.

The economics thinktank’s report, “Innovation in China: The rise of Chinese inventors in the production of knowledge”, looks at the reasons for China’s growing industrial strength and particularly at the influence of intellectual property.
