Mixed response to Miliband tuition fees proposal

Labour leader Ed Miliband’s call for the maximum university tuition fees to be pegged at £6,000 a year has received a mixed response.

Miliband’s proposals, set out in an interview with The Observer newspaper would meet the £800 million cost of the change by reversing Tory plans to cut corporation tax and imposing higher interest rates on loan repayments for graduates earning more than £65,000 a year.
