Oxford, Reading and Leeds top NERC chart

The universities of Oxford, Reading and Leeds received the most research funding from the Natural Environment Research Council in 2010-11. Figures published on 31 August put Oxford on top with 21 grants and a success rate of 28 per cent. The University of Southampton won less money but stood out with a 37 per cent success rate, as did the National Oceanography Centre.
