Survey finds professors have problem with HR

Principal investigators take a dim view of the task of managing colleagues’ career development, a survey from the UK careers organisation Vitae has found. The results show that just 14 per cent think working on the professional development of staff is “very important”. While 41 per cent rated it “quite important”, 32 per cent said it was “not very important”. The survey uncovers similar attitudes to induction, probation and appraisals.
