Keith Edwards of the University of Bristol has been awarded the Royal Agricultural Society of England's research medal for his studies on the genomics of wheat.
Edwards led the team which completed the first complete genetic sequence of this major food-producing plant species, with potential benefits in identifying and enhancing genes associated with important production and disease resistance characteristics.
