ScotGov: review of environmental impact assessment legislation in Scotland

The Scottish Government invites applications to tender for a review of environmental impact assessment legislation in Scotland.

This research will involve a review of Scottish EIA regulations. This will comprise of the following stages/outputs: an in-depth review of Scottish EIA regulations to identify any differences and/or overlaps in the legislative provisions, and consider the policy reasons for any variations identified; to consider whether the regulations are fit for purpose via a case study, a literature review of relevant Scottish case-law and stakeholder interviews; a theoretical study comparing the relative advantages or disadvantages of the Scottish EIA multi-regime approach to a related single-regime system, such as the habitats directive.
