Scottish stem cell research fund launched

A £5 million fund has been set up to support stem cell research in Scotland with backing from the government agency Scottish Enterprise.

The Scottish Stem Cell Research Fund, launched on 13 September, will be run by a national medical research charity, the UK Stem Cell Foundation. It will bring clinicians and basic researchers across Scotland together for collaborative research on conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, strokes, liver disease and Alzheimer’s.
