Stefan Collini launches ‘alternative’ white paper

Government HE critic Cambridge University's Stefan Collini and a range of academics have launched an alternative blueprint for higher education to the coalition's recent white paper.

In Defence of Public Higher Education, launched on 27 September, offers nine propositions about higher education’s value to society. It argues that the changes the government proposes are based on ideology rather than financial necessity, and will make no lasting savings.
