Survey finds professors have problem with HR

Many principal investigators take a dim view of the task of managing colleagues’ career development, a survey from careers organisation Vitae has found.

The results, based on responses from 2,588 research leaders at 33 universities, show that just 14 per cent think that working on the professional development of staff is “very important”. While 41 per cent rated it as “quite important”, 32 per cent said it was “not very important”.
