Tripoli University to ask LSE to return Gaddafi donation

Officials from Tripoli University have told The Guardian newspaper that the institution plans to ask the London School of Economics to return a £1.5 million donation by Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, one of the deposed president’s sons.

The officials claim the money was stolen from the Libyan people and should be reimbursed or used to fund scholarships for Libyans students in the UK, the newspaper reported on 21 September.
