Welsh universities eye EU structural funds

A proposed focus of European Union structural funds on research and innovation offers an opportunity to strengthen universities in Wales, the Welsh Assembly Enterprise and Business Committee has been told in an ongoing inquiry. The funds will bring £1.9 billion into Wales between 2007 and 2013.
