Exports of higher education services could play a vital role in restructuring the UK economy to bring it out of the current recession, the CBI has said.
In a report entitled a ‘Vision for Rebalancing the Economy’, published on 30 December, the organisation sets out a range of strategies to move the UK economy away from its dependence on household and government spending. This can be achieved within a five-year timeframe by increasing business investment and net trade, while still maintaining modest improvements in living standards, it says.
