Badger cull ‘risks increasing cattle TB’, scientists warn

A group of scientists with close links to government departments has expressed concern that culling badgers risks increasing cattle TB instead of reducing it, in a letter to The Observer on 14 October.

The letter was signed by Patrick Bateson, emeritus professor of ethology at the University of Cambridge, and 30 other scientists with “expertise in managing wildlife and wildlife diseases”.
