Jubilee professorships planned, but no funding on offer

Up to six universities will be awarded Regius professorships next year to mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee. Institutions can apply for one professorship to recognise excellence in teaching or research in a chosen department. The accolades do not come with any money. The Queen will announce the winners after taking advice from ministers, who in turn, will be advised by a panel of academics, led by Graeme Davies, chairman of the Higher Education Policy Institute.
