Bullying of university staff exceeds average

Staff at UK universities have more stressful work relationships than the general working population, the University and College Union has found. In a survey, 14,000 UCU members from 92 universities were asked to rate statements about work relationships, which were then given a score from 1 for high and 5 for low stress. The average score for members was 3.53, compared with 4.2 in the general population in 2008—the last year for which figures are available.
