NHS set to spend less on innovative medicines

The NHS spend on innovative medicines is falling in relation to the total healthcare budget, according to figures from the Office of Health Economics.

Its report, which offers a breakdown of figures by home nation compiled by the OHE for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry earlier in the year, was published on 31 October. It found that the total NHS expenditure on medicines in England was “firmly under control”.
