Government and industry not doing enough on bioethics, says Nuffield Council

Government and industry are not paying enough consideration to the wider “public good” of biotechnologies, claims a report from the Nuffield Council on Bioethics on 13 December.

The report, ‘Emerging Biotechnologies: Technology, choice and the public good’, recommends a standard test that can be applied to government departments and research funders to decide whether they are giving enough attention to ethics as they oversee biotechnology research.
