Academics say Lansley’s reforms lack economic justification

Six political scientists and economists wrote a letter in the Financial Times on 14 February saying there is no economic justification for the NHS reform being led by health secretary Andrew Lansley.

“External assessment showed that the health system inherited by this government was both cost-effective by international standards and had high patient satisfaction,” they write.
