Committee to question Scotland’s renewables targets

The Scottish Parliament’s Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee has launched an inquiry into whether Scotland will be able to achieve its ambitious renewable energy targets, looking at issues such as whether technology is ready to meet the targets and whether universities and research institutes are fully aware of the need for technological development. The nation plans to meet an equivalent of 100 per cent demand for electricity from renewable energy by 2020 and generate 11 per cent of heat from renewable sources.
