The Joint Information Systems Committee invites applications to tender for its advantages of application programme interfaces call as part of its digital infrastructures directions programme.
This call is for a report on the advantages of APIs. The report must build on existing knowledge, signpost research and guidance, cite evidence and be accessible to key audiences within the sector as appropriate to each report. It will need to address the following areas: an introduction giving the context and outlining why APIs are important now; what is an API; what are the advantages of APIs; how to recognise a system that has a well designed API; what to request when procuring an API; examples of good uses of APIs in university systems. Bidders are encouraged to include additional areas if they think they are necessary.
